History of this site have begun with the discovery of great Japanese train simulator in December 2000. This last one is a freeware (it’s Boso View Express) that you can download freely from "BOSO VIEW EXPRESS" official site in Japan. OBJECTIVE OF LILLE-RAIL SOFT

Objective of this site is to promote French railway simulation under BVE. You can download freely trains from LILLE TRAINS page.

SIMULATOR CHOICE OF LILLE-RAIL SOFT

Why have you chosen BVE? We have so for these follow good reasons:
1) it’s fully free and accessible to everyone!
2) Simulation is realistic and funny.
3) It’s easy to use (command by joystick).
4) it run on standard PC, under Windows, also under the last XP version.
5) Graphics are beautiful and moving freely! (640x480 pixels in 3D with DIRECTX technology and images like that photographic quality).
6) Sounds came from real records.
7) It’s possible to create easily yours own routes with Excel software.
8) It’s possible to create easily 3D objects with Excel and to put it on yours textures.
9) it’s possible to create easily trains with « TRAIN_EDITOR » tool, that's supply by its author.
10) It well knows in the world (and in Great Britain of course, but little knows in France!)
11) There is many add on, routes and trains in the world.
12) It is progressive (regularly up to date by the author).

Why have you choose a freeware? We have so, because it would be silly to buy software under BVE performances, to thank the author generosity and his talent, and finally to share it with a maximum of fans.

Do others freeware exist? Yes they do, the most well knows on the net is certainly the famous Polish simulator « MECHANIK », the BVE ancestor (plane graphics 320x200 pixels with 64 colours), certainly the first coming and a success at that time. It still has many fans!

And what about commercial software? The famous « Microsoft TRAIN SIMULATOR », look demonstration, it’s great, many views, detailed trains and landscape, your eyes are busy! Make the most of it because it’s ephemeral, after some simulation hours, always the same jerky display, monotonous landscape (linear and repetitive), a boring train driving (above all in work zone at low speed) and complex train driving (no joystick), slapdash tools, a virtual textbook, and about 60€ are missing from your purse. A rail landscape, it’s overall an atmosphere, it needs an artiste soul to be created!

Fortunately competitors and originality are present, this is the promising «Auran TRAINZ » from Australia, at least convivial and effective tools, enchanted atmosphere, ambitious expansion options (train dispatcher etc…), all to about 60€, keep a close eyes on developments.

And what about to bring to a close? We hope that generosity overcome money… A freeware number one, it’s a great bet. Are you ready to take up this challenge? So go to the download page and then adventure will begin!
